This is an original piano arrangement of the famous "Passacaglia" by G. F. Händel (from the "Suite de pieces pour le clavecin", Vol. 1 No. 7 - HWV 432). The arrangement was conceived by Haltber to create a version slightly shorter and more pianistic, while maintaining the fundamental structure and identity of the piece. Variations and repetitions considered less essential were omitted, the left hand rewritten in many sections, harmonization added in some passages, including some modifications to chord inversions. The preface provides a detailed explanation of the modifications made to Handel's original score. This arrangement is primarily based on the 1858 edition by Friedrich Chrysander, ensuring fidelity to the historical source while adapting the piece for piano performance. The edition includes 3 pages of preface and 4 pages of sheet music, with detailed fingering suggestions throughout. The typical performance duration of this arrangement is approximately 3 minutes.
