Chisholm was a late 19th/early 20th Century minister, manager, editor, and writer from Kentucky. Dunlop was a 20th Century musician, director, and hymnist from Chicago. The title is based on Isaiah 53:5. Section A features the exposition. A modulation to a new key occurs towards the end of the section with aid of an Italian augmented sixth chord. Section B then adds a descant by yours truly. The work ends with a 4-3 suspension in the trombone. This work should not drag, nor should it be rushed but rather a steady pace.
