Features a mildly polytonal section where a C Phrygian Dominant melody is introduced on top of the existing C Minor motifs. Besides that section, the piece is styled on Baroque era music. The piece builds slowly, with themes being individually introduced then combined in counterpoint.The pianist is recommended to play the piece with with dynamics according to their taste, but the rhythm should be as mechanical as possible.Starting from measure 86, the pianist will almost certainly be required to use the left hand to play some notes of the piece's initial right hand melody. This is not notated as it will vary based on the pianist's specific hands.
