The Naples Brass was organized by Steve DeLadurantey, Director of Music and WorshipArts at North Naples Church in Naples, Florida. The ensemble has a tradition of performingseveral concerts a year including annual Christmas concerts in the Naples, Florida area.The Twelve Days of Christmas is an English Christmas carol and nursery rhyme. Aclassic example of a cumulative song, the lyrics detail a series of increasingly numerous giftsgiven to the speaker by their true love on each of the twelve days of the Christmas season.The earliest known publication of the words to The Twelve Days of Christmas was anillustrated childrens book, Mirth Without Mischief, published in London in 1780. Over theyears, many different melodies have been associated with the song, of which the best knownis derived from an arrangement of a traditional folk melody by English composerFrederic Austin (1872 - 1952), who was also a singer. He first sang it in 1905.Variations on the Twelve Days of Christmas was recorded in 2024 by Bob Powers andthe Naples Brass, conducted by Steve DeLadurantey. It was recorded at the recording studioat North Naples Church in Naples, Florida. It will be released later in 2025 on Mark Records.
