This Christmas song has a lovely waltz-like melody in 3/4 time and quietly reflective. Colin Kirkpatricks setting of the text by Danny Alorean is sure to please and quite easy to sing. This SAB (soprano, alto, baritone) version omits the middle a capella section found in the SATB, SSA and SAT versions. The text looks at Bethlehem and the nativity story through the eyes of the shepherds. This piece would make an excellent addition to your Christmas concert or service. The SAB voicing makes this arrangement suitable for high-school or college choirs in which there are no high tenor or bass voices.
