I've taken the old tune "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" and arranged it for beginning orchestra. It utlizes most of the notes in first position, uses several articulations with the bow, including col legno at measure 21, pizzicato, double up bows, double down bows, slurs, and the standard detache. This tune should be played with a big, triumphant sound, plenty of gusto on the accents, and should sound like a lot of fun to play.
