I purchased this sheet music so I could teach my bass students the song, after playing through it, I realized That the tuning was incorrect, and the fingering was incorrect as well. Band members, Flea and John Frusciante are known to tune their low E strings Down from E down to E flat, leaving their other strings in standard tuning. The sheet music indicates tuning all the bass strings instrument down a whole step, which changes the bass fingering considerably. Observing a live RHCP performance on video will confirm this. It is understandable that the transcriber missed this, as the bass transcription was probably done a long time ago when it was difficult to properly audit what a performer was doing.
