This traditional tune was composed in approximately 1895. The arrangement appears in two parts: an adagio version and an allegro version in the manner of the harpsichord literature from the English Renaissance period. This dance pairing was a "hit" during that time period allowing partners to do a slow dance "cheek to cheek" and then to "get down" in the faster version:)
