"Scarborough Fair" is a traditional English ballad. The famous melody was published in an 1891 collection of Traditional Tunes. It is very similar to a Scottish ballad which has been traced back to 1670. The popularity of this song surged in the 1960's when American folk rock musicians made new and relevant recordings of it.
