An unusual arrangement of both "Tortoises" and "The Elephant" from Camille Saint-Saens' "Carnival of the Animals" for contrabassoon and string quintet by Philip Le Bas. To be played with lots of tone and at least a pinch of humour. After all, elephants dancing and tortoises doing the Can-Can (Offenbach's, slowly) are rather ridiculous!
