This is a beautiful 14th Century song arranged in a contemporary style. The lyrics are sacred and describe Mary the Mother of Christ hearing the news that she will bear a Son. It has a wonderful 'driving' rhythm with some simple but very effective harmony. The energy of the piece gradually builds and ultimately heads towards an exciting climatic finish. Although choristers and audiences are less likely to be familiar with the tune and words, when performed it always ignites an amazing positive reaction!
