Light and fun to listen to - but very difficult to play - this three-movement quintet is a great fit for pops concerts and festive occasions. The outer movements offer no quarter to the musicians while providing audiences with joyful music. The middle movement is based on a lyrical theme, and features the trombone.This one comes in at about 6 minutes 20 seconds...assuming you can keep the tempo up. It seems as if some quintets are a little bit scared of notes. This piece isn't for them.
