Al Hoffman's Heartaches was published in 1931. Since then it has been covered by numerous artists including Al Bowlly and, most recently, sampled in James Leland Kirby (AKA The Caretaker's) experimental sample-based album "Everywhere at the End of Time" (2016). This arrangement seeks to emulate the opening track "It's Just a Burning Memory" from said album.
