Plappermäulchen (Little Blabbermouth or Chatterbox) was written in 1868 by Josef Strauss, Big Johann's talented brother and is subtitled "Musical Joke". More than this, it is a musical character piece drawing the behaviour of a chatterbox. Writing this piece Strauss had his daughter Karoline Anna in mind, who was 10 years old at that time. It premierd on 26 April 1868. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their "New Year's Concert" on 6 January 2009 at the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Austria. A live recording of this concert is available at https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/de/von-der-donau-bis-zur-wolga/ or https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/von-der-donau-zur-wolga/hnum/10428691?iampartner=303&subid=umr37&ref=partner.jpc.de .
