Orfeo ed Euridice (Orphée et Eurydice, Orpheus and Eurydice) is an opera composed by Christoph Willibald Gluck, based on the myth of Orpheus and set to a libretto by Ranieri de' Calzabigi. The opera is the most popular of Gluck's works, and was one of the most influential on subsequent German operas. Variations on its plot can be found in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Beethoven's Fidelio, and Wagner's Das Rheingold."Dance of the Blessed Spirits" is an instrumental interlude. Its beauty and simplicity have transcended the popularity of the opera itself and today it is one of the most familiar of all classical pieces. This easy arrangement for baritone (Bb T.C. or C B.C.) with piano accompaniment is suitable for any occasion: classroom, repertoire, recital or for an emotional and touching encore. The arrangement also includes the possibility of playing only "Andante con moto" with a specific alternative ending.
