This concert version of the jazz standard My Favorite Things by Oscar Hammerstein II and Richard Rodgers is arranged for piano and cello by Dias Karimov. The piece opens with an original piano introduction, followed by the theme presented by the cello with piano accompaniment. It develops into a fully written-out cello solo based on modal material and thematic development, followed by an extended bebop-influenced piano solo with walking bass, harmonic interplay, and pianistic articulation. A composed interlude leads back to the final statement of the theme. Written in the original key, this arrangement is intended for professional-level performers. Includes full score for piano and cello, plus separate cello part.
