"Silent Night" is one of the most cherished and widely performed Christmas carols across the globe. Composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber with lyrics by Father Joseph Mohr, the carol was first performed on Christmas Eve in the small Austrian village of Oberndorf. Since then, it has become a universal symbol of peace, hope, and unity, translated into over 300 languages and dialects. In this version, the composition was arranged for Viola and Piano by Harry Walker.
