Unfortunately, many of the greatest melodies are sometimes buried in the middle of a lengthy and technically challenging composition. Such is the case here: Chopin's outer sections of his 17th etude are technically beyond many of our intermediate pianists nowadays. Here, the basic ideas of the "B" section of this etude are presented as a completely independent character piece. Alterations in the texture, rhythm, harmony and so on, are relatively minor and do not detract from Chopin's original idiom and character.
