Originally written as a ballet, Ravel's Bolero became an instant hit and then found a new audience when Torvill and Dean used it for their iconic Olympic winning performance in 1984. Immediately recognisable, this is a condensed arrangement for concert band, keeping as close to the original work and intention as possible whilst making it a more appropriate length for many concerts. It also shares the melody and rhythm throughout the band as much as possible! Reduced to approximately 7 mins, it can be shortened further to 5 mins should you wish by starting at rehearsal mark C.The arrangement is intended for advanced intermediate bands due to the ranges involved in the 'solo' parts and all trumpet parts. However, an alternative set of trumpet parts is included to make it more accessible. If you wish to print double sided, please purchase the double sided version which has been formatted to allow for page turns and has blank pages inserted
