Lowry was a 19th Century teacher, pastor, choirster, and hymnist from Philadelphia. Another name for the tune is 'Plainfield', where Lowry pastored. Sections A and C are the verse. Sections B and D are the refrain. A modulation to a new key occurs at the end of section B with the aid of a German augmented sixth chord. Section C has a descant begin by yours truly.
