Zieher (1843-1922) was a serious rival composer to the Strauss Dynasty. His Wiener Burger Waltz sequence (1890) is probably the best known of over 600 compostions and the opening fanfare is reminiscent of his time spent as an Austrian bandmaster. This arrangement for piano solo would be suitable for any viennese programme.
