Skating- From A Charlie Brown ChristmasThis is an intermediate string orchestra arrangement for the classic tune SkatingThe original piece is in C major and this arrangement has been transposed to G major. Some of the turn-around chords which were chromatic I have altered to be diatonic chords for ease of the player given that it is for an intermediate-level group.The Violin 1 part has the main melody, and pizzicato at the beginning and end. The Violin 2 part as normal supports Violin 1 with harmony which is most of the time in thirds just like the original.The Violin 3 part is the easiest of all the parts mostly playing dotted half notes on the G string as well as playing a little pizzicato.The Cello part has a lot of the color for the chords and the B section has a little counter melody.The Bass part uses, pizzicato and arco, low F naturals and one Eb, as well as dotted quarter notes for the main theme to match the violins.It can also be played as a string quintet if desired.
