This beautiful work is a concert tribute to the amazing tradition of klezmer clarinet. Klezmer is the traditional music of the Ashkenazi Jews of Eastern Europe played by Klezmorim and it is consist of songs which accompany dances and cerimonies. In particular, Shalom Aleikem (peace be with you) is the traditional Hebrew salutation and blessing. Kovacs's compositions is dedicated to the most important Jew clarinetist Gioira Feidman named "The king of Klezmer". More than any other clarinetist, Gioira Feidman exemplifies the instrument, the style and the cultural tradition. Written by soloist clarinet and piano accompainement, this arrangment proposes a variation to soloist clarinet and clarinet choir: three clarinets B-flat, an Alto clarinet and a Bass clarinet. There is a Bassoon part to replace the Bass Clarinet.
