Four Nature Dances was composed for percussionist Stuart Gerber, and premiered by him in 1999. The piece requires a compact percussion set which includes both traditional and found instruments. More recently, the composition was performed and recorded by Carlos Camacho.Samuel Robles is a Panamanian composer and musicologist whose works have been performed or recorded by orchestras, soloists and chamber ensembles such as Pacifica String Quartet, the Guanajuato Symphony Orchestra, Ana Catalina Ramírez, Orquesta Sinfónica Venezuela, Roberto Alonso Trillo, The National Symphony of Panama, the OSJEV, Dal Niente Ensemble, and Laurel Zucker. His research insterests include Panamanian traditional music, music of the Caribbean and the works of Roque Cordero. Robles is the winner of multiple awards for his choral, chamber, orchestral and solo compositions.
