To start of this piece, the low voices of the ensemble are going to simulate a clock striking midnight, as the intro continues, the other horns will layer some backgrounds on top of that. When it's time for the melody to begin, we start with a very minimal group of instruments, just the piano playing the melody, the bass providing the pulse, and the guitar gently comping behind them. The chart continues to grow until the horns take over the melody at the bridge. Then, when the last A section comes, we acheive this epic contrast between a very relaxed groove and melody from the rhythm section with some very strong hits from the horns. The piano takes the solo, and to end the chart, the horns will hold out 1 soft tonic major chord while the piano imitates the melody of a clock again.2 Alto saxes2 Tenor saxes1 Bari sax4 Trumpets3 Trombones1 Bass tromboneAcoustic guitarPianoUpright bassDrum setLevel 5Bossa NovaPiano featureLead trumpet high note concert Eb6
