The Folk Uke series offers a musical "construction kit" for traditional folk songs. Each song begins with the vocal part set for medium voice (male or female) with chords for ukulele. This is followed by a fingerstyle accompaniment and a ukulele solo with introduction and coda. These different parts can be assembled in different ways, for example, very simply, with voice and strummed chords, or more elaborately: intro, verse 1 with chords, verse 2, fingerstyle, solo, verse 3, etc., or as a duet, with uke 1 playing the melody and uke 2 playing chords or fingerstyle accompaniment. Farewell, Nancy is a traditional song with many variants around England. The melody is in the Aeolian mode. The song is arranged for re-entrant GCEA tuning.
