Ive always been interested in Baba ORiley; it always felt like a combination of Disneys Electric Light Parade, minimalism, and rock. Take what you want (as to the story) behind this piece - you cannot deny that the title refers to Maher Baba and Terry ORiley - a combination of Indian spiritualism and musical minimalism. The main melody is there. The voices bounce around with short vocalises/ostinatos to simulate a synth. The piano also becomes integral to the iconic chord progression. This version helps to use what the choir is excellent for - dynamic and textural contrasts while delivering a familiar tune. Enjoy this interactive rendition of Baba O'Riley!
