Prelude for Tag was written for my daughter Tagni when she was a 14-year-old and showing talent as an oboist. She began the instrument at age 12 and for one of those magical reasons... found a way to make this extremely difficult double reed instrument sound beautiful almost from the start. Tagni now has a son in high school who has an excellent sound on Clarinet. I transcribed Prelude for Bb instruments so he could perform the piece. Ranges and technique are limited in the solo part and piano. NOTE: In the F Major Version I typed in an Ossia option for the Low C at the ending phrase for Oboe performers. "If" needed.
