Prelude for Tag was written for my daughter Tagni when she was 14 year old and showing talent as an oboist. She began the instrument at age 12 and for one of those magical reasons... found a way to make this extremely difficult double reed instrument sound beautiful almost from the start. Tagni now has a son in high school who has a great sound on Clarinet and I transcribed Prelude to Bb so he could perform the piece. Ranges and technique are limited in the solo part and piano. NOTE: If the opening phrase range is high for a young performer it can be played down one octave.
