This chamber work is based upon the official state cryptoid/creature of Michigan, the legendary "Dogman," that was said to lurk in the state's lower peninsula, particularly in Wexford county. As it was mainly inspired by such other works as Saint-Saens "Danse Macabre" and Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain" (Yet it's mainly inspired by Sir Malcolm Arnold's "Tam O'Shanter Overture," this would be a perfect piece for a Michigan Halloween.
