Written in the early 20th century, this beloved Cuban folk song is about a girl who carves her boyfriend's name onto a tree trunk. The tree has a mind of its own, however! This arrangement for children's choir has two vocal parts, accompanied by piano. It was commissioned by the Miami Choral Society. The attached performance is from their album "It's Our Nature to Be Heard".
