'Fireflies flying by' is a vibrant solo-piece for Vibes (four mallets) with an optional Cajon/Drums accompaniment. It's driving groove and the contrasting tranquil middle make it a crowd-pleasing addition to any recital., from intermediate to professional level.It describes the bustling energy and glowing flight patterns of a swarm of fireflies, illuminatinga quiet meadow alongside a stream during a warm summer night. Looking at the ghostly, circulatingdance for a while, the viewer is suddenly able to take in the whole scene, finding peace and tranquillity,before being captured by the complexity of the swarms movement once again.
