One of Henry Purcell's sets of Incidental Music for Theatre, The Gordian Knot Unty'd Suite has survived owing mostly to it's arrangement by Gustav Holst for Orchestra, with very typical arrangement of the time for winds and brass. This edition is an edition aiming to recreate a more original scoring, through study of the other theatre works of Purcell, and their instrumentation. As can be gained from the way the score is organised, it can also be performed as a String Quartet. This is because much of the early Baroque repertoire was written in only four or five parts, and many instruments doubled where necessary. This is the full set of parts, including both Figured and Unfigured Basso Continuo parts.
