Named for my oldest son, Blues for Mike is a saxophone trio written for two middle school alto saxophonist and one tenor saxophonist. It follows the simplest 12-bar blues chord progression in Bb major, giving all three players a chance to take the lead primarily playing Bb blues scale figures.
