Goal! is an elementary piano solo that tells the story of an exciting soccer match. The excitement of the piece is heard in ascending and descending "walking" sixths. Frequent dynamic changes and eighth note broken chords are used to indicate the various periods of game time. The song has C Hand Positon as a home base but uses the sixth intervals to add interest. There are 28 measures in the piece and shortest pitch duration is eight notes.
