Eternal Father, Strong to Save is a hymn traditionally associated with seafarers, particularly in the maritime armed services. Written in 1860, text author William Whiting was inspired by the dangers of the sea described in Psalm 107. John B. Dykes, an Anglican clergyman, composed the tune "Melita" to accompany the text in 1861. This version is for standard clarinet quartet of three Bb soprano clarinets and one bass clarinet with an optional alto clarinet part which substitutes for the third Bb soprano. Lush romantic harmonies and the passing of the melody from player to player are its cornerstones.Search terms: Maiden, Müller, Mueller, Muller, Maiden Müller, Maiden Mueller, Maiden Muller
