One of five sets of Hymn Introductions which comprise ten separate hymn tunes that establish the tempo and character of each hymn to be sung. The texture of all of these miniatures is thinner than the conventional SATB format. In addition to hymn tune names a metrical format is also included. These brief settings may very well be used as teaching pieces for beginning organists or as exercises in transposition and compositional techniques: Included are: KREMSER, LOBE DEN HERREN, and MELITA.
