Many composers had adapted this tune for their works, notably Ludwig van Beethoven and Carl Maria von Weber. This arrangement tries to capture the Eastern European feel that one may characterize (or caricaturize). This arrangement started off as an assignment while taking "Composing and Arranging for School Bands" with Dr. Scott Watson (Alfred, Hal Leonard, Wingert-Jones) at Central Connecticut State University in the summer of 2014. Minka, Minka is arranged in band-friendly C-harmonic minor. A few items to remember: - Upper winds have a minor second trill on concert Ab to A - The section starting at 53 should be played as delicate as one would allow. - The section starting at 69 should appear to gain momentum. - The section starting at 88 should be equal or stronger than it has first appeared.
