Here Comes The Sun - The BeatlesMusic by George HarrisonArranged for Wind Quartet by John M. LicariMusic Preparation Serviceswww.musicprepservices.com"Here Comes The Sun" is one of the most popular song by The Beatles. It was written in 1969 at Eric Clapton's house during a difficult time in George Harrison's life. The song is written in the key of A major (this version is transposed to A-flat major), and features some very sophisticated compositional devices - secondary dominants, borrow chords from parallel keys, and time signatures revealing his influences from Indian music. This arrangement is perfect for a high school-leveled woodwind quartet. Bass Clarinet is given the opportunity to have the melody in the upper range of the instrument.Side-note: This arrangement is dedicated to my daughter whose first song she had ever experienced was this song. Ironically, her name is Lennon.
