Gone Fishin' is not a traditional cadence, and was written to be a fun groovy chop workout primarily featuring diddles and paradiddles, while also utilizing a varying time signature between 6/8 and 9/8 throughout. A 7/8 bottom bass (preferred 5th bass) groove is sure to interest both other percussionists and casual viewers! Gone Fishin' can serve as a great exercise for intermediate drumlines looking to work on accent vs. tap height with diddles and paradiddles, work on counting and playing in mixed-meter time signatures, and is great for the lot or the stands! Both a full score and individual parts are included with PDF download. As for the title, the main motif came to me while I was out fishin'. Enjoy!Total time: 1:32Tempo: quarter note = 172 bmp (eigth note = 344 bpm)Difficulty: IntermediateInstrumentation: Snares, Tenors (4 standard drums + 1 spock), 5 basses (4 can be used if bottom bass plays both the 4th and 5th base part), Cymbals (optional but encouraged!)
